If we had to come up with only one word to describe Lia Arnold, it would be “active”. WOW! We got tired just reading about all that she is involved in. You know what they say, if you want to get something done; ask a busy person and it looks like Lia might be one of the first on the list. She is an active mom, business owner and community member with a warm heart and a can-do attitude. See what she had to share with us…
What do you do for a living? Owner/Gym Director for The Little Gym in Hunt Valley.
How long have you been doing it? 4 years
What is great about your job? Making kids smile, seeing the “proud parent” moments, working with a
great team and wearing sweat pants to work everyday.
Where do you live? Parkton
What is the best thing about your neighborhood? My neighbors are awesome and there are tons of kids for Emily and AJ to play with.
How would you describe your family? Fun, caring, active and helpful.
Are you involved in the community? How? Yes, PBRC Baseball and Softball Commissioner, PTA
volunteer, volunteer at Prettyboy Elementary, coach for youth sports, Toys-for-Tots drop site (The Little
Gym), food bank drop site (The Little Gym).
Favorite local restaurant? Any place that is kid friendly.
Where did you go to high school? Marlboro HS (in NJ)
What was your first car? Mitsubishi Eclipse
Do you have pets? What? One dog, two cats and two chickens (and whatever else my kids find and bring home temporarily).
What is your favorite hobby? Why? Skiing. I love the snow and being in the mountains. It’s something we all do as a family. It’s great exercise and a ton of fun.
What are three words you would use to describe yourself? Caring, helpful and organized.
What do your friends find annoying about you? That I brag about never having a cavity at the age of
42. (I hope this doesn’t jinx me)
I don’t want to admit it, but… I think I could eat an entire half gallon of cake batter ice cream.
If you won the lottery, what would you do? Take my family on whatever vacations they wanted to go on,
volunteer more and give back to my community.
Do you dream about or wish for anything? I’m a very lucky person—my life is full of wonderful people,
good health, all the basic necessities and lots of happiness. My wishes are for others who are less fortunate or struggling. I guess if I had to wish for something for just me, it would be for additional adventures that I could share with my future grandkids someday.
Where is the most interesting place you have been? Backpacking through Panama and camping at
the top of Volcan Baru.
Is there anything else you would like us to know about you? I used to work on a cruise ship (when I
was much younger) called the Queen Elizabeth II.
